how2video is the creation of Steve Dotto (yes, Steve Dotto the computer guy from the Dotto Tech television show) and Dan Zimmer. We came to instructional video by way of network television - producing North America's longest running, most watched hi-tech how-to television show. This background gave us a keen appreciation for the teaching power of video. Many topics just lend themselves better to instruction by video. Can you imagine trying to learn how to ride a bike by reading a book?
Some of our first customers were libraries - public libraries, school libraries, etc. - a market we always figured we'd be well received by. What we didn't anticipate was how many of them would ask, "what other how-to titles do you have to offer?" It seemed there are lots of resellers and distributors of video, but few that focus exclusively on how-to & educational titles. To find such titles usually means having to wade through long lists of feature films, short films, documentaries, animation, television series, movies-of-the-week and so on. From this need, how2video was born.
